With Sympathy

Another card that I never seem to have enough of unfortunately is Sympathy cards.  I also often get requests from people wanting to buy sympathy cards so I needed to make some of those as well.  Here is the one I came up with today:

This largely inspired by a blog I read but I honestly don't know who's it was - I'm so sorry!
The main image is from Stampendous and the sentiment is by PTI.  I used a cb folder I've had forever and have never used, a MS border punch and some ac ribbon.  There are aqua micro beads on the centers of the flowers as well!

More Christmas!

I continued my ...Days of Christmas posting when I realized that the rest of the posts didn't save - ugh!  So, here I am in January posting my Christmas cards I made after Christmas - giggle!
I've been contemplating a stamping decision for a while and think I've finally made up my mind and I'm very excited about it.  I'll share that with you in a while ~wink~ but for now, here is another Christmas card for you!

The inspiration for this card came from the Scrapbook Trends blog (I think).  I took some shimmer card stock - yummo!  I love ALL things sparkly - such a girly girl!  Then I stamped a Paper Trey sentiment across the top and bottom (the sentiment is straight but the pic is crooked).  I used my nesties to cut a frame out some old SU Christmas paper from my stash and then used my felt SU snowflakes from last year and a big swarovski crystal in the middle to make it sparkle!  Love it! Is Anyone Out There????

I don't know if anyone is out there anymore but if you are, you are very very loyal - lol!  Its been soooo long since I posted.  Truthfully, life has gotten so busy with these 4 boys of ours that I just haven't had time to do any type of hobby activity at all.  Until last night that is!  My DH insisted that we head down to our den where his video games and my stamping stuff are and spend some leisure time together.  So I stamped like crazy to try and replenish my Christmas cards for next year.  Over the next few days I'll show you what I came up with - many of which were inspired by the amazing blogs I visit all the time!
So, here is the first card:

Ingredients:  swiss dot cuttlebug folder, pti inks, swarovski crystals, mft die, and snowflake punch.

Simple but pretty.  Completely describes our weather here today - a good day for snuggling in and hmmm, stamping I think!  I hope you all had an amazing Christmas surrounded by those you love! Pin It

A Treat for Mrs. Harris

Okay, so I've been seeing all over the place that this recipe for banana bread that is "soooo good" so I decided to try it for myself!  WELL - let me assure you - the rumors are true - this banana bread is is AMAZING!!!  Jacob and I decided to make them into muffins instead.

Since they turned out so good and Jacob did the majority of it himself I thought he'd like to take one for his teacher - Mrs. Harris.  She is a really good teacher - unfortunately, the stats say that in 13 years of your child's education you are very lucky if you get one really good, dedicated teacher.  We are so blessed that the boys have had 2!  Unfortunately, the former was true for Isaiah who is now in grade 12.
Anyway, I think those teachers that are awesome at their jobs deserve a treat once in a while so I whipped up this little box for Jacob to take Mrs. Harris a banana muffin in.

On the 6th Day of Christmas...

some pretty felt snowflakes matched with some glimmer paper seemed the perfect combination!

Snowflake Serenade Goes to the Silent Auction

Our oldest son Isaiah is going on a mission trip in February and the church he is going with is holding a silent auction to raise funds for the home they are going to build as well as furnishings for the family.  We're so excited for Isaiah to have this opportunity!  I'm sure it will give him a completely new perspective on how truly blessed we are!
Anyway, I wanted to contribute to the silent auction so I made this set of 10 Christmas Cards:

For Edna

Working at the hospital in a small town you get to know and meet alot of the people in the community.  The summer before last Andy managed the golf course in town and he also got to know many of the people in town.  There is one particular couple that has been on our hearts lately.  Andy got to know both Ron and Edna as they were active golfers, Edna on the ladies' team and Ron on the mens.  I also had the priviledge of getting to Edna a little as she came into hospital regularly for treatment.  Ron and Edna also had twin boys so we often laughed about the challenges of raising them.  Both Ron and Edna were very sweet people who, when you visited with them, were always genuinely concerned at what was going on in your life and how you were doing.
Last week we found out that Edna passed away.  What a huge loss this will be for this small community.  Her smiling face and positive outlook will be missed by all who knew her.  I wanted to get a card in the mail to Ron, so I made this one and will send it out thi week.
