So, day 4 we set out on our adventure to the Butterfly conservatory, the Botanical Gardens, the White Water Walk and the Maid of the Mist.
I have ALOT of pics I'm going to post here since I've been getting emails asking for more pics and since facebook is giving me fits trying to upload them I'm going to post them here. Most of them are self explanatory, just very pretty to look at - so lets head to the butterfly conservatory for our first stop!
There are over 2000 butterflies in the conservatory which, as its name implies, is a large completely glass building. As soon as we walked in, this guy came over to say hi and landed on my hand:
I love this shot with that drop of water waiting to fall!
Look at this guys tongue! I had NO clue that butterflys had such long tongues!
There was a little aquarium amidst all the beauty and in it were these colorful little guys!
This guy was a baby and seriously, his whole body could fit on a quarter - legs and all!
Out of the butterfly conservatory and onto the botanical gardens!!! We discovered that Niagara Falls is home to a 3 year Horticultural University. Their 3rd year students are responsible for taking care of the gardens around Niagara Falls, the flower gardens in Niagara on the Lake as well as the gardens here.
From the botanical gardens we headed to the white water walk. It is a wooden built walk way that goes along the class 5 rapids down the river from where the falls are. It was amazing how turbulent the waters were.
We stopped to look at this ride you can take in this cable car suspended over the whirlpool - um ya, after the episode on the sky wheel, there was NO way I was getting on that thing!
After that we hopped on a shuttle to go on the Maid of the Mist. It is a boat ride into the heart of the falls. These boats have been offering rides since the early 1900s and it was truly an amazing experience!
They give you these very fashionable rain coats so that you don't get soaked on the ride!
Well, that's the end of th photo expose for today! I TOLD you we took alot of pics. Just one last thought before I leave you today. In this world of creativity, stamping, card making, scrapbooking amidst all the other arts and crafts, interior decorating, our sketches, color combos, new colors, etc.,it must make God smile to see his children creating things that make their hearts happy. He is the creator of all color combos, the greatest sketch magician, the all time embellishment king. It has been so humbling to see the amazing creation that he lets us live in. All of the beauty that surrounds us is so awesome. He holds the universe in the palm of His hand - we are SO small and yet He loves us so much!
